Pratap Rughani
TrAIN Associate Project Partner
Pratap Rughani received support from the TAP fund in 2010. He used the resource to develop a documentary project on the ethics of coverage of atrocity, which led to the following further projects and publications in 2010:
1) Following the show of some of this work at Deborah Cherry’s Afterlives of Monuments Conference, a book chapter based on it has been published; Are you a vulture? Reflecting on the ethics and aesthetics of coverage of atrocity and its aftermath in ‘Journalism, War and Conflict Resolution’ ed. R. Keeble, J.Tulloch & F. Zollmann, Foreword by John Pilger. Peter Lang (June 2010).
2) The photographic/film work shown draws on reflective research work, and was then selected by the ICA for a show & conference in the summer of 2010. This work and panel debate at the ICA ‘Remembering Khairlanji’ was taken up by LCACE (London Consortium) and was used in a new film (launched on Oct 22nd).
