Susanne Neubauer is an independent curator and art historian based in Berlin and Zurich. She was a curator at Kunstmuseum Luzern, Switzerland, from 2002-9 where she worked with artists such as Anton Henning, Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba, Minette Vári and Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven and organized thematic exhibitions such as Documentary Creations (2005) and Projection. Chan, EXPORT, Fischli/Weiss, Gander, Gillick, Graham, Knoebel, Parker, Streuli (2006). In 2010 she completed her PhD entitled Paul Thek Reproduced, 1969-1977 at the University of Zurich (published with Silke Schreiber Verlag, Munich, in 2011) and is currently working on an experimental and documentary exhibition series on the European environmental work of Paul Thek for LehmbruckMuseum Duisburg, Kunstmuseum Luzern and Moderna Museet Stockholm (2012-2013). A new book on Paul Thek will be published by JRP|Ringier Zurich in summer 2012. Susanne Neubauer’s further research investigates the interpersonal relationships and the transcultural dimension of Brazilian art of the 1950s and 1960s in Germany and Switzerland within the globalized context of art history.
